U.S. 220 follows a freeway leading south from the interchange of Freeman Mill Road and Business Loop Interstate 40 & U.S. 421 in central Greensboro. The freeway joins the city with Asheboro and Ellerbe in the southern part of the state. Pictured here is a U.S. 220 & Future Interstate 73 shield. It is unclear if the Interstate 73 shield is valid now that Interstate 73 is fully signed along the southwest leg of Painter Boulevard with Interstate 40. Photo taken 07/24/04. |
