U.S. Highway 123
U.S. 123 constitutes a short east-west roadway between Toccoa and Greenville South Carolina. Following a four lane divided expressway from the western end to Georgia 184 at Toccoa, U.S. 123 travels under 100 miles on the trek through Appalachian Piedmont. From the split with Georgia 17 eastward, U.S. 123 travels through downtown Toccoa on a slow two lane alignment. The highway is vastly rural east of the Stephens County seat to the South Carolina state line at the Tugaloo River.Georgia 17 East of this junction, U.S. 123 resembles the back roads of yesteryear, following two lanes through Toccoa to the Tugaloo River.

from Georgia 17 as seen from adjacent Tommy Irvin Road northbound. Georgia 17 turns northward on the Toccoa
Highway from U.S. 123 westbound at this intersection, facilitating the movements between U.S. 123 south to
U.S. 23 & 441 north and from U.S. 23 & 441 south to U.S. 123 north. A partial "Y" interchange funnels U.S.
