U.S. 90 & 98 East - Battleship Parkway
Eastbound U.S. 90/98 approaching the Interstate 10 Exit 30 diamond interchange. This particular portion of the Battleship Parkway is just barely above sea level. A boat launch ramp and parking area can be found to the left. Parking areas to the right are favorite areas for local fisherman. Photo taken 09/01.
A night time view of the Exit 30 causeway interchange. The Junction Interstate 10 shield assembly depicted above is replaced with that depicted in this photograph. Both Interstate 10 and Battleship Parkway continue east from this junction five miles to the city of Spanish Fort (pop. 5,423). Photo taken 08/21/03.
A look at the Interstate 10 Bayway and Exit 30 eastbound on-ramp from U.S. 90-98 eastbound. The eight mile twin viaduct is illuminated throughout its Mobile Bay crossing. Photo taken 08/21/03.
Here is how the Interstate 10 Bayway looks from U.S. 90/98 looking eastward. The waters of Mobile Bay are only a few inches deep at this point, and overall in the area tally only a few feet in total depth. Photo taken 03/05/99.

U.S. 90 & 98 East - Battleship Parkway
Detour Interstate 10 shields continue along U.S. 90-98 eastward to Spanish Fort. Since hazardous materials are permitted along the Bayway from Exit 27 eastward, it is unclear if this detour related signage pertains to that or just as an alternate routing in case of bridge construction or related congestion. Photo taken 08/21/03.
The first sign of the upcoming junction with U.S. 31 is posted along U.S. 90 & 98 eastbound after the Exit 30 Interstate 10 interchange. The pair continues along the causeway for another five miles before parting briefly in mainland Baldwin County. Photo taken 11/05/03.
U.S. 90 East - Spanish Fort
At Spanish Fort, U.S. 90 & 98 diverge briefly. U.S. 98 beelines for Interstate 10 Exit 35. U.S. 90 meanwhile continues straight to the U.S. 31 southern terminus. Photo taken 08/24/03.
U.S. 90 eastbound at the northbound beginning of U.S. 31. U.S. 90 here turns south toward U.S. 98 and the Interstate 10 Exit 35 interchange. U.S. 31 continues eastward through Spanish Fort before turning northeast and north to the Baldwin County seat of Bay Minette (pop. 7,820) with Alabama 59 (The Gulf Shores Parkway). Photo taken 08/24/03.
Closer look at the U.S. 31, 90, & 98 shield assembly at the U.S. 31 southern terminus. At one point, U.S. 31 continued west with U.S. 90 & 98 into downtown Mobile. Truncation to this intersection occurred in the mid 1990s. Photo taken 08/24/03.
U.S. 90 East - Baldwin County
U.S. 90 and 98 overlap for a short spell across Interstate 10 at Daphne. To the east, U.S. 90 finally parts ways with its counterpart and proceeds directly east to this intersection with the southern terminus of Alabama 181. Shopping plazas and hotels dot the landscape between U.S. 98 in Daphne and this location. Photo taken 08/26/01.
Detail of the U.S. 90/Alabama 181 and Baldwin County 27 shield assembly at Malbis. This area is slated for heavy growth, with the construction of a large shopping mall complex slated for 2003. Baldwin County 27 begins also at this intersection, and takes traffic southwards to U.S. 98 at Weeks Bay. It is a good alternative to the slow going U.S. 98 through Daphne-Fairhope for traffic headed south. Photo taken 08/24/03.
Departing the Malbis community on the 6.2 mile stretch between Alabama 181 (Malbis Plantation Parkway) and Alabama 59 (Gulf Shores Parkway). Photo taken 05/07/04.

The folded-cloverleaf interchange of Interstate 10 (Exit 44) is just 1.25 miles north of the intersection of U.S. 90 and North Magnolia Street. A Foley Beach Express trailblazer is in place for Alabama 59 southward for Orange Beach (pop. 3,784). Photo taken 05/07/04.
