U.S. Highway 45 Alabama
U.S. 45 begins its trek to northern Michigan in Mobile at the split of St. Stephens Road from U.S. 98 (Spring Hill Avenue). The highway follows St. Stephens Road northward through Prichard to Eight Mile. Rolling hills and thousands of acres of pine forest set the tone for the remainder of the journey in northern Mobile and Washington Counties. The only interruption is that of the city of Citronelle, which offers the largest array of travelers services between Mobile and State Line, Mississippi. Alabama 17 follows U.S. 45 north from Mobile to Deer Park; Alabama 57 continues the route to Mississippi. Overall U.S. 45 travels 59.2 miles within the state.
