U.S. 29 North
U.S. 29 (Greenville Highway) northbound approaching Interstate 26. A full cloverleaf interchange facilitates the movements between the north-south freeway and U.S. 29 at Exit 21. Interstate 26 travels between the cities of Asheville, North Carolina, 60 miles to the north, and Columbia, 80 miles to the south. This particular guide sign no longer is in place. The only Business Spur 585 shield found in Spartanburg. Located at the intersection of U.S. 29 (Saint John Street) northbound at Pine Street (U.S. 176 & South Carolina 9). The 0.3 mile Business Spur 585 designation appears to only apply to Pine Street between U.S. 221 (Whitney Road) and the intersection of Pearl Street. Photo taken 09/02/00.
In this October 5, 2001 photograph, the Business Spur 585 assembly is bent as such to improperly face U.S. 176 & South Carolina 9 (Pine Street) southbound. In effect, the trailblazer now indicates that Business Spur 585 follows actual U.S. 29 (Saint John Street) north.
U.S. 29 South
U.S. 29 (Saint John Street) southbound in the city of Spartanburg at the turn onto Main Street. U.S. 29 follows Main Street onto Wo Ezell Boulevard to the Exit 21 cloverleaf interchange of Interstate 26.
