U.S. 25 North
U.S. 25 exists as a full freeway between the South Carolina state line and Zirconia. The limited access highway improves the access between the city of Greenville, South Carolina and Hendersonville, North Carolina. U.S. 25 departs the freeway via Exit 5. North Carolina 225 overtakes the freeway alignment northward to Interstate 26. U.S. 25 Truck begins and follows North Carolina 225 to the next exit. This configuration is slated to change however. It appears that U.S. 25 will bypass Flat Rock and Hendersonville via a realignment along the North Carolina 225 freeway and Interstate 26 between the Fletcher/Mountain Home interchange (Exit 44) southward to Zirconia. The alignment shift would truncate North Carolina 225 and eliminate the need for U.S. 25 Truck. The original path of U.S. 25 through town will likely become U.S. 25 Business under this scenario.1 Photo taken 08/23/03.
North Carolina 225 and Truck U.S. 25 downgrade to a super two freeway at the U.S. 176 (Spartanburg Highway) interchange near Five Points. U.S. 25 South
U.S. 25 (Dixie Highway) southbound at junction Interstate 26 (Exit 44) outside of Fletcher in Henderson County. The federal highway merges onto Interstate 26 to bypass Hendersonville and Flat Rock between Exits 44 and 54 on the freeway to the east.
