Alternate U.S. 19 (Florida 595) North
Approaching the directional interchange between U.S. 19 Alternate (Bay Pines Boulevard) north and junction Florida 666 (Madeira Beach Causeway). This interchange was the only element of the unconstructed St. Petersburg-Clearwater Expressway built outside of the partial-Exit 20 of Interstate 275. U.S. 19 Alternate turns north from Bay Pines Boulevard onto Seminole Boulevard at the split with Florida 666 (Madeira Beach Causeway) west. Florida 666 spans Boca Ciega Bay between Bay Pines and Madeira Beach. Florida 666's west end occurs at Florida 699 (Gulf Boulevard), the main north-south road along the Gulf Beaches. Florida 688 leads west to Walsingham Road, Anona, and Indian Rocks Beach (junction Florida 699) and east along Ulmerton Road to city hall, High Point, St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, and junction Interstate 275 north at the Howard Frankland Bridge Florida 688 was considered for a freeway corridor, but that corridor was unconstructed due to high right of way acquisition costs.
