| The Interstate 110 viaduct shifts two blocks westward between
Exit 3B and Exit 3A (Chippewa Street). The next off-ramp descends onto Pocahontas Street just north of its
intersection with Chippewa Street. Hiawatha Street forms the northbound frontage road below the viaduct
one block east of Pocahontas. Photo taken 08/12/02.

| Exit 3A departs Interstate 110 southbound for Chippewa Street.
One block to the west Chippewa Street intersects Scenic Highway and becomes U.S. 61 & 190 Business.
The east-west street travels from the Mississippi waterfront at 3rd Street eastward to Plank Road (Louisiana 67)
and Delaware Street. Photo taken 08/12/02.

| Capital Access Road departs Interstate 110 southbound at
Exit 5 and a railroad overcrossing. The original guide sign included Department of Transportation & Development.
A sign replacement project of 2003 however replaces the right-hand panel and removes the Exit 1G 0.25-mile
overhead. Photo taken 08/12/02.

| New overhead for the Exit 1G ramp departure for N. Ninth Street.
Interstate 110 reduces to four lanes on the southward curve near Capital Park and Boyd Avenue. Ninth Street
parallels the freeway on the southbound side through to Laurel Street. Photo taken 10/13/03.

| A slip ramp composes the Exit 1G connection to adjacent N. Ninth
Avenue. Traffic merges onto Ninth Avenue from W. Highway Drive and the Capital Access Road from the right.
Note that the overheads for Exit 1G and the Interstate 110 southbound pull-through panel are removed by 2003.
See the sign bridge in the background of the above photograph for the change. Photo taken 08/12/02.

| Taking N. Ninth Street southbound adjacent to the Interstate
110 mainline reveals this sign bridge. Traffic from W. Highway Drive is afford the opportunity to access
Interstate 110 south. Otherwise N. Ninth Street continues to Boyd Avenue and the Baton Rouge central business
district. Photo taken 11/15/03.

| Interstate 110 southbound at the left-hand off-ramp to
Laurel Street (Exit 1H). Northbound travelers see an off-ramp one block to the north at North Street.
Exit 1H is the second to last mainline off-ramp of the Baton Rouge freeway spur. Ahead is a second left-hand
off-ramp for Louisiana 73 (Exit 1A). Louisiana 73 (Government Street) is a 26.25-mile highway between
Baton Rouge and Geismar (junction Louisiana 75). Photo taken 11/15/03.

| A 2003 sign replacement project sees the removal of the panels
depicted in the above photobox for the placement of new Exit 1J (Interstate 10 west) and Exit 1I (Interstate 10

| A look at the south end of Interstate 110 and split of
Interstate 10 bound ramps from the shoulder of the northbound ramp from Interstate 10 east. Traffic was at a
virtual standstill due to a traffic accident further to the east on Interstate 10. Lafayette is situated 41 miles to the west, with
Lake Charles at a distance of 110 miles from this location. Both of these sign panels were also replaced
during 2003. Photo taken 08/12/02.

| The new Exit 1I overhead for Interstate 10 eastbound at
the Interstate 110 southern terminus. There were three lanes to carry traffic onto eastbound. However in 2003
the right-hand lane was restriped to form a full shoulder. Interstate 10 travels southeastward from here
four miles to the eastbound beginning of Interstate 12.
