Interstate 95

Flagler County (Northbound)

Interstate 95 North
Interstate 95 veers more inland as U.S. 1 once again migrates toward the coast. The federal highway continues as a rural four-lane divided highway to St. Augustine. Founded in 1565, St. Augustine is home to a bevy of historical sites including Fort Matanzas National Monument.
Pictured here is the Exit 298 diamond interchange with U.S. 1; U.S. 1 next meets Florida 206 at Dupont Center. U.S. 1 and Interstate 95 come together again in south Jacksonville. Photo taken 12/30/06.

Westward the state road sinks southwest to Elkton, Armstrong, Spuds before ending at Florida 100. Photo taken 12/30/06.
Interstate 95 stays well west of St. Augustine through rural environs on the five-mile drive to Florida 16. Some sprawl however is encroaching about the next interchange. Photo taken 12/30/06.
Florida 16 stems west from Florida 5A/St. Johns County 5 in St. Augustine to a diamond interchange with Interstate 95 (Exit 318). The interchange serves interests to St. Johns River Community College and the First Coast Technical College. Photo taken 12/20/06.

The south end of Florida 9B may have tied into the First Coast Outer Beltway, but those designs have shifted to a corridor focusing more toward Florida 16. Photo taken 12/30/06.
