Florida 951/Collier Boulevard is the last exit before the tolled Alligator Alley begins. At this point, south Interstate 75 is turned in a due east direction, and Florida 951 is a north-south route. The next exit is Exit 80, Junction Florida 29, which has no facilities or services. The following exit is Exit 49, Junction Broward County Route 833. There are services located at a plaza 38 miles east of here in Big Cypress National Preserve along Interstate 75/Alligator Alley. Photo taken 06/25/05.
After Exit 101, Junction Florida 951, the toll plaza for the Alligator Alley lies ahead. A small green sign (pictured) indicates the beginning of the Alligator Alley, which is the one of the few toll facilities on the Interstate Highway System in Florida (Interstate 275/Sunshine Skyway Bridge is another example). Sun-bleached pavement surrounded by green grasses and trees make a familiar sight for eastbound Interstate 75 across Alligator Alley. Photo taken 06/25/05.
The right of way along eastbound Interstate 75/Alligator Alley is extra wide to allow for people who doze off along the long, straight road. Photo taken 06/25/05.
