Interstate 75 North - Georgia to Farragut

Interstate 75 North
Just north of the Georgia state line is the Exit 1 partial cloverleaf interchange of U.S. 41 (Ringgold Road) in the city of East Ridge (pop. 20,640). U.S. 41 also enters the state nearby with U.S. 76 in tow (omitted from Exit 1 guide signs) on an east-west trajectory to Interstate 24 Exit 181A. Photo taken 08/23/03.
Interstate 75 northbound at the Exit 1B cloverleaf ramp to U.S. 41 north & U.S. 76 west (Ringgold Road). U.S. 76 sees its western terminus somewhere in the downtown area of Chattanooga (pop. 155,554). The paired highways travel 8.5 miles westward into the heart of the city. Photo taken 06/18/05.
Just north of U.S. 41 & 76 is the eastern terminus of Interstate 24. A directional interchange sees Interstate 75 turn from a northerly orientation to an easterly one to coincide with the merge of Interstate 24 at Exit 2. Photo taken 06/18/05.
A two-lane off-ramp departs Interstate 75 north for Interstate 24 west (Exit 2). Interstate 24 serves the central business district of the city, acting as a conduit to/from the northern terminus of Interstate 59, 16 miles to the west. Interstate 59 and Interstate 24 link the Interstate 75 corridor with northern Alabama and the city of Birmingham. Photo taken 06/18/05.
The westbound beginning of Interstate 24 leaves Interstate 75 north at Exit 2. Interstate 24 composes the main roadway between Chattanooga and the capital city of Nashville (pop. 545,524). The two freeways meet just south of the former Eastgate Mall (now Eastgate Town Center) off U.S. 11. Photo taken 06/18/05.
