This vantage point is taken from the main lanes of the turnpike as they merge onto Interstate 75 from the right. Use Florida 44 east to Wildwood (Junction U.S. 301), Leesburg (Junction U.S. 27-441), DeLand (Junction U.S. 17-92), and New Smyrna Beach (Junction U.S. 1 and Volusia County Route A1A). Use Florida 44 west to Inverness (Junction U.S. 41) and Crystal River (Junction U.S. 19-98). Florida 44 spans the width of the Florida peninsula, which is a rarity in Florida's state route system.
