| Interstate 75 North
|---|
| The first interchange after the departure from the Interstate 85 overlap of Interstate 75 northbound is Exit 252A. A partial cloverleaf interchange composes the junction of the freeway with U.S. 41 (Northside Drive). Northside Drive travels through the western reaches of the central business district of Atlanta to Interstate 75 and Memorial Park. Four miles to the north the federal highway sees a second interchange with the north-south freeway at Exit 256. Photo taken 08/22/03.
| Interstate 75 kinks westward after the Interstate 85 (Exit 251) trumpet interchange. The freeway varies between eight and ten lanes northward to U.S. 41 (Exit 252A). Photo taken 08/22/03.
| Nearing the Exit 252A off-ramp to Northside Drive. Situated close by is the Exit 252B diamond interchange with Howell Mill Road. The southbound side of Interstate 75 sees a collector/distributor roadway between the two interchanges. Photo taken 08/22/03.
| Traveling the Interstate 285 ramps to Interstate 75 north. The close proximity of the directional cloverleaf allows for two separate ramps to Exit 260 (Windy Hill Road) from the Interstate 75 mainline and Interstate 285 connecting ramps. Photo taken 08/22/03.
| The Exit 260 off-ramp departs the Interstate 285 on-ramp to Interstate 75 northbound. Visible to the right is the Interstate 75 mainline off-ramp to Windy Hill Road. The partial cloverleaf interchange serves the suburbs of Smyrna (pop. 40,999) and of Marietta (pop. 58,748). Photo taken 08/22/03.
| Interstate 75 gains capacity between Windy Hill Road and Exit 260 (Delk Road). The upcoming partial cloverleaf interchange intersects the eastern terminus of Georgia 280 along Delk Road. The state highway loops westward around Dobbins Air Force Base via Cobb Drive to Georgia 5 (Austell Road). Photo taken 08/22/03.
| The departure of the Exit 261 off-ramp to Delk Road. The nearby Dobbins A.F.B. is home to Lockheed Aeronautical Systems. Delk Road continues east of Interstate 75 without Georgia 280 into residential neighborhoods of east Marietta. Interstate 75 expands to 12 overall lanes. Photo taken 08/22/03.
| Similar to variable message signs in the state of Texas, VMS in the Atlanta area display travel times and other advisories due to accidents, congestion, and closures for the associated freeway. Reference points are generally based on freeway to freeway connections as opposed to freeway to surface arterial interchanges. Photo taken 08/22/03.
