| Cedar Bluff Road intersects Interstate 40 & 75 via the Exit 378 interchange. Originally just a diamond interchange, Exit 378 now composes a partial cloverleaf with two ramps serving the respective directions to Cedar Bluff Road from Interstate 40 & 75 westbound. Cedar Bluff Road travels north-south between U.S. 11 & 70 (Kingston Pike) and Middlebrook Pike. Photo taken 08/23/03. |
| Diagrammatical overhead for the Interstate 40 & 75 junction with the Interstate 140 (Pellissippi Parkway) western terminus and Tennessee 162 (Exit 376A/B). A three-quarter partial cloverleaf interchange composes the junction between the two freeways. Directional ramps allow Tennessee 162 traffic high speed access to Interstate 40 & 75 to/from Knoxville. | Interstate 40 west and Interstate 75 southbound are each allocated two lanes at the Exit 368 split. A tri-level stack interchange facilitates the movements between the two mainline Interstate highways. Both freeways depart the Knoxville metropolitan area into rural environs within Loudon County. Photo taken 08/23/03. |
| Interstate 75 southbound departs via the Exit 368 off-ramp of Interstate 40. 79 miles separate Interstate 40 with the city of Chattanooga (pop. 155,554). Westward Interstate 40 travels another 147 miles before reaching the capital city of Nashville (pop. 545,524). It should be mentioned that the junction between the two Interstates here will eventually see a third Interstate tie into the fold. The planned north Knoxville belt line (Interstate 475) will extend Interstate 75 northward from Exit 368/Exit 84 to Interstate 75 near the town of Clinton (pop. 9,409). Construction of the four to six lane freeway was planned between 2006 and 2008, however that is unclear as of late 2007. Photo taken 08/23/03. |
