Interstate 20 east/U.S. 49 south splits with Interstate 55 southbound traffic in this photograph. Traffic destined for the Terry Road (Exits 43A/B) must also exit the mainline of the freeway, as the interchange is adjacent to the Interstate 55 merge. Exit 45 begins a short expressway segment of U.S. 51, with an interchange to Gallatin Street, that stems into downtown Jackson at State Street. Shifting to the upper level of "The Stack", this photograph shows the southbound Interstate 55 ramp to Interstate 20 east and U.S. 49 south. The landscape of Interstate 20 transitions towards to a rural-like setting as the freeway enters the eastern suburb of Brandon. Interstate 59 southbound returns traffic to the southwest and the cities of Laurel and Hattiesburg. All signage along Interstate 20 at Interstate 59 has been replaced as of Fall 2002. See Robert E.
