Interstate 4 Eastbound - Osceola County

Interstate 4 East
Interstate 4 leaves the Exit 58 diamond interchange at the Polk County line for the 2006-opened Exit 60 stack interchange with Florida 429 Toll (Daniel Webster Western Beltway). Opened on December 5, Florida 429 Toll joins Interstate 4 with Florida's Turnpike near Ocoee and U.S. 441 (Orange Blossom Trail) at Apopka. The 33-mile toll road provides a bypass route of the Disney area for motorists bound to Orlando's western suburbs. Photo taken 01/11/08.
Interests to the Walt Disney World resort area should remain on Interstate 4 eastbound to Exit 62 (World Drive). New access to the Disney complex is available via Florida 429 Toll and Western Way however. Photo taken 11/04/06.
One quarter mile southwest of the Florida 429 Toll northbound beginning near the Traditions Boulevard overpass. Florida 429 Toll serves growing suburbs of northwest Osceola County and southwest Orange County including Indian Ridge and New Horizon. Much of the frontage of the Western Beltway sits in wait for thousands of homes and shopping complexes planned during the next ten years or so. Photo taken 01/11/08.
Northbound motorists bound for Florida 429 Toll depart Interstate 4 at Exit 60. Florida 429 Toll in conjunction with Florida 417 (Central Florida Greeneway / Seminole Expressway) constitutes the envisioned beltway system of Orlando. Planning is underway on the final leg of the circumferential highway, that of the Wekiva Parkway through north Orange, east Lake, and west Seminole Counties. Upon completion, Florida 429 Toll will return to Interstate 4 near Sanford. Florida 417 Toll and 429 Toll south do not meet at the same interchange due to the urging of area developers and leaders. Photo taken 12/30/06.
Looking at the Exit 60 ramp departure just one month before its completion. Western Beltway travelers soar high above Interstate 4. Florida 429 Toll travels five miles north to junction U.S. 192 at the Orange County line. Photo taken 11/04/06.
World Drive meets Interstate 4 two miles northeast of the Florida 429 Toll south end. World Drive acts as the main route to the Walt Disney World resort complex. Connections with Osceola Parkway west serves the Animal Kingdom and U.S. 192 east serves the Wide World of Sports complex. Photo taken 11/04/06.

New signs were installed giving motorists 1.75-mile advance notice of the Exit 62 ramps to Florida 417 Toll (Central Florida Greeneway) north and World Drive. Interstate 4 passes under Osceola County 545 (Old Lake Wilson Road) as it leaves the Florida 429 Toll stack interchange. Photo taken 01/11/08.
A lengthy collector/distributor roadway departs in one mile for Exits 62 - World Drive north and 64 - Florida 417 Toll (Central Florida Greeneway) north. The c/d roadway segregates Central Florida Greeneway traffic well in advance of the Interstate 4 confluence with busy U.S. 192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway). New signs were installed in 2006 in conjunction with the Interstate 4 improvement project in north Osceola County. The next series of photos illustrates the changes in signage during that time period. Photos taken 11/04/06 & 12/29/05.
Long distance interests to the Kennedy Space Center and Port Canaveral are advised to use Florida 417 Toll north (east) to junction Florida 528 Toll (Beachline Expressway). Florida 528 joins the greater Orlando area with Interstate 95 and the Space Coast via connections with Florida 407 (Titusville) and Florida A1A (Cocoa Beach). Photo taken 12/29/05.
One half mile southwest of the Exit 62 directional-cloverleaf interchange with World Drive. World Drive leads north from nearby Celebration Boulevard to the Walt Disney World resort area. Celebration constitutes a 1994-created city built by the Disney Corporation to the south of Interstate 4. Use World Drive south to Celebration Boulevard east for the community. Photos taken 12/29/05 & 11/04/06.
The Exit 62 c/d roadway serves interests to Florida 417 Toll (Central Florida Greeneway) north to Orlando International Airport and Sanford. A c/d roadway parallels Interstate 4 for over a mile before departing via a partial "Y" interchange with the Greeneway. Photos taken 12/29/05 & 01/11/08.
Next in line for Interstate 4 eastbound drivers is the directional-cloverleaf interchange with U.S. 192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway). Construction at the time of the second photograph involved the widening of the freeway and upgrade of Exit 64A/B (U.S. 192) to include additional high speed ramps. Photo taken 01/11/08 & 12/29/05.
Looking at the Exit 62 c/d roadway northbound off-ramp to World Drive south to Celebration Boulevard. Celebration Boulevard shadows Interstate 4 east from Celebration High School to Campus Street in Celebration. Photo taken 11/04/06.
A loop ramp departs the eastbound c/d roadway for World Drive northbound. World Drive comprises a north-south freeway between Interstate 4 and Disney's Magic Kingdom. Interchanges along the road serve Disney's Hollywood Studios, Bay Lake, and the Animal Kingdom. Photo taken 11/04/06.
A slip ramp provides return access onto Interstate 4 eastbound for those entering the freeway from World Drive and Celebration Boulevard. The Exit 62 roadway defaults onto Florida 417 Toll northbound otherwise. Photo taken 12/29/05.
Part of Interstate 4's reconstruction through the Disney World area was the upgrade of the interchange with U.S. 192. A new flyover ramp was constructed from U.S. 192 west to Interstate 4 west and the ramps for Exit 64A/B were reconfigured to depart the freeway on a new distributor roadway. In the process Exits 64A/B were combined into a single Exit 64. Photo taken 01/11/08.
Interests to Disney's Hollywood Studios should use U.S. 192 west to World Drive north. Previous signs mentioned Disney's Hollywood Studios on all panels, but with the combined Exit 64 overheads, the attraction gets its own sign.
Meanwhile to the right is the on-ramp from the World Drive c/d roadway of Exit 62. Photo taken 01/11/08.
The Interstate 4 mainline draws to within three-quarters of a mile of Exit 64 with U.S. 192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway). U.S. 192 provides an array of services for Disney World area tourists and other visitors. The east-west roadway travels west to Four Corners and its terminus at junction U.S. 27. U.S. 192 east head to the Osceola County seat of Kissimmee. Photos taken 12/20/06 & 01/11/08.
Interstate 4 maintains six overall lanes through the U.S. 192 directional-cloverleaf interchange. Exit 64 departs as a two-lane off-ramp shortly after the Florida 417 Toll partial "Y" interchange. Photo taken 01/11/08.
Nearing the Exit 64 ramp departure to U.S. 192 east. U.S. 192 stays north of Celebration and meets Poinciana Boulevard in 3.5 miles and junction Florida 535 (Vineland Road) in 4.2 miles. Note three signs used for the ramp in three years! Photos taken 12/20/06, 12/29/05 & 01/11/08.
Interstate 4 eastbound at the Exit 64 distributor roadway. The roadway partitions into a sweeping ramp for U.S. 192 east to Kissimmee and a loop ramp onto U.S. 192 west. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway heads west one mile to an interchange with World Drive on the eight-mile drive to its western terminus with U.S. 27 at Four Corners. Photos taken 12/20/06 & 01/11/08.
