Completed in 1963, the Pinellas Bayway includes the draw bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway leading east to Isle Del Sol. Planning first began for a replacement in 1998, and construction may begin in 2009, though that remains uncertain, on a $180-million project to build a set of twin two-lane fixed spans over the Intracoastal.1 Photos taken 01/01/06. |
