Eastbound - Interstate 4 to Florida 417 Toll

Florida 528 Toll east

International Drive represents a north-south road and corridor built with resorts and hotels in mind. Known also as simply I-Drive, the roadway is home to a myriad of attractions, lodging establishments, and meeting places. Exit 2 joins the Beachline Expressway with Universal and Orangewood Boulevards east of the Orange County Convention Center. Universal Boulevard acts as International Drive's counterpart through the attractions area east of Interstate 4. Universal Boulevard derives its name from the Universal-Orlando Studios complex. A six-ramp partial-cloverleaf joins the Beachline Expressway with John Young Parkway. John Young Parkway transitions into Florida 423 north of Florida 50 (West Colonial Drive) but otherwise is a vastly unsigned county road only acknowledged by toll road interchanges. Photo taken 03/18/06.

Exit 3A departs Florida 528 Toll eastbound for John Young Parkway southbound. John Young Parkway meets Central Florida Parkway within 0.75 miles, the Central Florida Greeneway within the sprawling Meadow Woods and Hunter Creek subdivisions in three miles, and the Osceola County line in five miles. There is no direct connection between the Florida's Turnpike mainline and Florida 528 Toll. Instead drivers must use the U.S. 17-92-441 (Orange Blossom Trail) trumpet interchange with the Turnpike via Consulate Drive east. Florida 582 Toll curves northeast toward the Exit 4 interchange complex with Consulate Drive to U.S. 17-92-441 (Orange Blossom Trail) and Florida's Turnpike. Orange Blossom Trail, sometimes referred to simply as OBT, constitutes an older commercial arterial stretching from central Orlando southward to Kissimmee, the Osceola County seat. A half-diamond interchange joins the Beachline Expressway with Consulate Drive just west of its intersection with the Orange Blossom Trail. Additional ramps join Florida 528 Toll directly with U.S. 17-92-441 and Landstreet Road (unsigned Orange County 528). Use OBT south for Southchase suburban community and north for Edgewood. The Beachline West Toll plaza lies between Exits 4 and 8 on the Beachline Expressway. All passenger vehicles are levied a 75 cent toll, though Florida's Turnpike Authority offers a discount of 25 cents for SunPass account holders. Florida 528 Toll enters the Airport main line Toll Plaza between the Conway Road on-ramp and the three-quarter directional cloverleaf interchange with Florida 436 (Semoran Boulevard) and Airport Boulevard. The Airport Toll Plaza is an older facility with converted toll booth lanes acting as high-speed Sunpass or Epass lanes. All passenger vehicles are levied a 75 cent toll. Just south of the freeway here are Orlando International Airport runways. Airport Boulevard West travels south from Florida 528 and 436 via Exit 11 into the main terminal area. South Access Road continues south of the terminals to Boggy Creek Road and the Central Florida Greeneway at Exit 17. Florida 436 ends at Exit 11 otherwise. Photos taken 03/18/06.
All traffic interests to both Florida 436 (Semoran Boulevard) north and Airport Boulevard south depart in unison via Exit 11. Florida 436 travels the busy Semoran Boulevard north from the Airport interchange to Conway, Orlando, and Casselberry in Seminole County. Use Semoran Boulevard for the sprawling Lee Vista Boulevard commercial and condominium corridor. One half mile west of the Exit 12 off-ramp to Goldenrod Road. Goldenrod Road is unusual in that it represents a tolled surface arterial between the Beachline Expressway and Lee Vista Boulevard. Tolls are levied in both directions of the roadway. Goldenrod Road continues north from there into growing residential areas associated with east Orlando. Heintzelman Boulevard continues Goldenrod Road south from Cargo Road/Jetport Drive to South Access Road through the airport vicinity. Narcoosee Road derives its name from the Orange County 15 connection to Osceola County 15 and the community of Narcoossee. From its beginning in northern Osceola County, the Greeneway serves Celebration, the Meadow Woods and Hunters Creek suburban communities, new Lake Nona and East Park to junction Florida 528 Toll. Florida 417 Toll provides the long distance connection to Interstate 4 west for interests to Tampa. Northbound connections serve the city of Orlando via Florida 408 Toll (Holland East-West Expressway) and Florida 50 (East Colonial Drive).
