Orange Avenue

Florida 527 travels between Florida 482 (Sand Lake Road) and U.S. 17-92 & Florida 50 (Colonial Drive) in the Orlando area. Through downtown, the state highway travels one-way street couplet of Rosalind Avenue (north) and Orange Avenue (south).

Florida 527 north
Florida 527 follows Orange Avenue northward from Edgewood north into Downtown Orlando. Just south of the East-West Expressway (Florida 408 Toll) viaduct is the partition of Florida 527 into the one-way street couplet of Rosalind Avenue (north) and Orange Avenue (south). Continuing along Rosalind Avenue, Florida 527 crosses Lake Lucerne, passes underneath the Florida 408 Toll over crossing, and intersects Anderson Street. Anderson Street flows eastbound only and includes an eastbound on-ramp to the East-West Expressway. Anderson and South Streets otherwise provide frontage streets along side Florida 408 Toll between Downtown and Lake Underhill. Photo taken 07/29/06.

Between Central Boulevard and Florida 526 (Robinson Street), Rosalind Avenue passes by Lake Eola and Lake Eola Park. An ornamental fountain lies within the lake that was first added in 1912 and later joined by a second fountain in 1957. Florida 527 (Orange Avenue) ends at the five-way intersection with junction Florida 426 (Fairbanks Avenue) and Pennsylvania Avenue. Florida 527 splits into one-way street couplets through downtown Orlando. Southbound follows all of Orange Avenue; northbound utilizes a combination of Rosalind and Magnolia Avenue. Interstate 4 "Florida" trailblazer posted on Florida 527 (Orange Avenue) south at Pine Street. This shield was originally located on a different light post (see the following photo), but survived.
