Florida 417 Toll North
A long collector distributor roadway facilitates the movements onto Florida 417 Toll northbound from Interstate 4 east at Exit 63. Florida 417 Toll travels east from Interstate 4 to the Exit 2 diamond interchange with Celebration Avenue. Celebration Avenue links the Central Florida Greeneway with the Walt Disney Corporation built town of Celebration to the south and junction U.S. 192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway) to the north. There is no direct access to U.S. 192 from Florida 417 Toll. The east-west arterial the commercial district peripheral to the Walt Disney World Resort area. Photo taken 12/19/03.
A short distance north of Exit 2 is the Exit 3 partial-cloverleaf interchange with Osceola Parkway. Osceola Parkway, a county-maintained toll road, travels west to Disney-MGM Studios, Disney's Wide World of Sports complex, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. Photo taken 12/19/03.
Florida 417 Toll passes over both U.S. 192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway) and International Drive South ahead of the Exit 3 ramp to Osceola Parkway (Osceola County 522). Osceola County 522 straddles the Orange County line east from Disney-MGM Studios and Bay Lake to Interstate 4 and the Southern Connector (Central Florida Greeneway). Osceola Parkway (Osceola County 522) continues east from Florida 417 Toll to northern reaches of Kissimmee and Buenaventura Lakes. Epcot Center Drive merges onto Florida 417 Toll east at the Exit 6 partial "Y" interchange, providing direct access to the Central Florida Greeneway from the Walt Disney World Resort area via Florida 536 east and Florida 535 (Vineland Road) south. Modernization of the John Young Parkway Toll Plaza segregates traffic into high-speed SunPass lanes and outer cash-paying lanes with conventional toll booths. The toll plaza is the second of six along the entire routing of Florida 417 Toll. Older signs, such as the one pictured here, focus on the EPass system that OOCEA implemented before the addition of SunPass. Nearing the John Young Parkway off-ramp on Florida 417 Toll east. John Young Parkway provides a major north-south arterial between Kissimmee and the southern Orange County suburbs of Orlando. Northbound (eastbound) at the Exit 10 ramp departure to John Young Parkway. John Young Parkway becomes unsigned Osceola County 523 upon crossing the Orange County line. U.S. 17-92-441 (Orange Blossom Trail) cross paths with the Central Florida Greeneway at the Exit 11 folded-diamond interchange. Like John Young Parkway, Orange Blossom Trail comprises a busy north-south arterial serving the south Orange County suburbs and north Kissimmee. U.S. 17-92-441 also comprise the commercial strip of the area with a myriad of strip malls and shopping plazas along its frontage. Photo taken 12/19/03.
Exit 11 leaves Florida 417 Toll northbound for U.S. 17-92-441 (Orange Blossom Trail). U.S. 17-92-441 head 4.5 miles south to junction U.S. 192 (Vine Street) at downtown Kissimmee. U.S. 441 joins U.S. 192 east for St. Cloud while U.S. 17 & 92 continue southward together to Haines City. Florida 417 Toll passes over Florida's Turnpike one mile ahead of the Exit 14 diamond interchange with Landstar Boulevard. No access exists presently between the two toll roads, but a future interchange is planned. Landstar Boulevard meanwhile meanders southward from Wetherbee Road to a transition into Buenaventura Boulevard at the Seminole County line. Exit 14 consists of a two-lane off-ramp from Florida 417 Toll northbound onto Landstar Boulevard below. Landstar Boulevard meets Town Center Boulevard, an east-west residential through route, one half mile to the south. Travelers pass through the Boggy Creek mainline Toll Plaza between Exits 14 and 17. Exit 17 serves Orlando International Airport via the South Access Road. Approaching the Exit 17 off-ramp on Florida 417 Toll. The forthcoming interchange lies at the edge of the large master-planned community of Lake Nona. Upon completion, a town center, hospital, the University of Central Florida Medical Center, and a large variety of dwellings will lie along the landscape adjacent to the Central Florida Greeneway. Florida 417 Toll travels east-west through the southern reaches of Orange County. Boggy Creek Road travels north from Osceola County 530 east of Buenaventura Lakes and north of East Lake Tohopekaliga to western reaches of Orlando International Airport at Tradeport and Dowden Roads. Northbound at the Exit 22 diamond interchange with Orange County 15 (Narcoossee Road). Orange County 15 serves the northern reaches of the new Lake Nona community between Florida 417 Toll and Dowden Road. At Florida 528 Toll, County 15 becomes Florida 15 en route to Conway and central Orlando. Florida 15 is the hidden state road counterpart of U.S. 17 from Sanford north to Jacksonville. Turning northward, Florida 417 Toll next meets Florida 528 Toll (Martin Andersen Beachline Expressway) at the Exit 26 stack interchange. Florida 528 Toll, formerly the Bee Line Expressway, joins the Orlando Metropolitan area with Florida's Space Coast at Cocoa. The east-west toll road also provides access to Orlando International Airport and older suburban communities such as Taft, Pine Castle, and Williamsburg. Photo taken 12/19/03.
One half mile south of the Exit 26 ramp departure to Florida 528 Toll (Beachline Expressway). The Beachline Expressway heads west 16 miles to junction Interstate 4 at the International Drive resort area. Eastward, the toll road continues 21 miles to the split with Florida 407; Florida 407 leads northeast to Titusville, Cape Canaveral, and NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Photo taken 12/19/03.
Traffic to Exit 26 departs Florida 417 Toll northbound in unison. Florida 528 Toll west reaches Orlando International Airport in five miles and Taft in eight miles. Florida 528 Toll east transitions into Florida 528 east of Interstate 95 and ends at junction U.S. 1 & Florida A1A at Cocoa. Lee Vista Boulevard meets the Central Florida Greeneway next. Lee Vista Boulevard is a fairly new road serving newly built subdivisions and commercial parks within southeast Orlando. Exit 27 departs Florida 417 Toll northbound for Lee Vista Boulevard at east Orlando. Lee Vista Boulevard meanders westward through new subdivisions and condominium areas to junction Florida 15 (Narcoossee Road), Florida 551 (Goldenrod Road), and Florida 436 (Semoran Boulevard). Florida 417 Toll next passes through the Curry Ford main line Toll Plaza ahead of the Exit 30 diamond interchange with Curry Ford Road. Curry Ford Road travels west from Alafaya Trail through a suburban landscape to junction Florida 551 (Goldenrod Road) & 552 in Orlando. Florida 552 carries Curry Ford Road west from Goldenrod Road. Curry Ford Road intersects Econlockhatchee Trail just west of Florida 417 Toll and Dean Road/Young Pine Road nearby to the east. Curry Ford Road east provides access to the large Eastwood and Stoneybrook subdivisions via Alafaya Trail. Curry Ford Road west ends at Ferncreek Road in central Orlando. Florida 408 Toll (Holland East-West Expressway) meets Florida 417 Toll at the Exit 33A/B directional-cloverleaf interchange. The East-West Expressway constitutes the primary through route for interests to/from downtown Orlando between Ocoee and Union Park. An Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA) maintained toll road, Florida 408 Toll provides access to Florida 50 for interests east to Christmas, Titusville, and Cape Canaveral. Drivers using Exit 33A join Florida 408 Toll eastbound ahead of the Exit 19 off-ramp to Dean Road. Florida 408 Toll ends in five miles at the interchange with Florida 50 (East Colonial Drive) and Challenger Parkway at University Park. Exit 33B consists of a loop ramp onto the Holland East-West Expressway westbound for interests to downtown Orlando, Ocoee, Winter Garden, and the western suburbs. Florida 408 Toll opened in 1973 as a limited-access alternative to the congested Colonial Drive (Florida 50). The toll road meets Interstate 4 eight miles west at the Orlando central business district. The western extension ties into Florida's Turnpike for seamless access to Florida 429 Toll (Daniel Webster Western Beltway) and the western suburbs. Photo taken 12/19/03.
