Florida 415 joins the Sanford area of Seminole County with Daytona Beach in Volusia County. Seminole County 415 represents an old alignment of State Road 415 from near the Osteen Bridge over the St. Johns River to U.S. 17-92 (French Avenue) in central Sanford.

Florida 415 north
The northbound beginning of Florida 415 features a reassurance shield, a mileage sign, and suburban sprawl. The state road's connections with Florida 44 east lead toward New Smyrna Beach and Interstate 95. Photo taken 02/29/08.
Florida 415 north meets Seminole County 415 (Celery Avenue) on the approach to the Osteen Bridge. Seminole County 415 travels west to central Sanford along a two-lane residential roadway. The county alignment represents old Florida 415 in conjunction with Peninsula Point, a short road spurring to a marina area adjacent to the Osteen Bridge. Photo taken 02/29/08.
Florida 415 immediately enters Volusia County at the St. Johns River crossing. Officially designated the Douglas Stenstrom Bridge, the state road spans the river and its bayou along a two-lane span. Out of view to the left is a portion of the original 1947 bridge over the nearby bayou. Photos taken 02/29/08.
Reassurance shield posted north of the bridge at a short access road that spurs to the 1947-bridge remnant. Florida 415 travels through the Brickyard Slough Tract of the Lake Monroe Conversation Area northward to Osteen. Photo taken 02/29/08.

Immediately south of the Osteen Bridge is the east end of Seminole County 415 (Celery Avenue). Celery Avenue carries the county road westward to central Sanford along the original Florida 415 alignment. Peninsula Point spurs northeast from County 415 to an adjacent marina as a road that once crossed the St. Johns on a 1947-constructed bridge. Photo taken 02/29/08.

Seminole County 415 east
Seminole County 415 (Celery Avenue) draws to a close at junction Florida 415 near its crossing of the St. Johns River into Volusia County. Florida 415 south ends nearby at junction Florida 46 at Lake Mary Boulevard, the 2006-completed extension. Photo taken 02/29/08.
Seminole County 415 west
Begin Seminole County 415 shield posted at the beginning of Celery Avenue as it leads north from Florida 415 near the Osteen Bridge. Seminole 415 turns west at Peninsula Point (original Florida 415) for suburban areas north of Midway. Photo taken 02/29/08.
Typical scene along Seminole County 415 (Celery Avenue) west within the Canaan and Midway areas. The scenery is deceptive as suburban sprawl lies ahead. Photo taken 02/29/08.
Seminole County 415 (Celery Avenue) wholly enters the city of Sanford near Scott Avenue. Photo taken 02/29/08.
A traffic light resides at the intersection with Mellonville Road (unsigned Seminole County 4201) on Celery Avenue west. Mellonville Road heads south to Florida 46 (East 25th Street) near the airport and north to Seminole Boulevard on the shores of Lake Monroe. Photo taken 02/29/08.

13th Street westbound at Park Avenue (unsigned Seminole County 4213). Park Avenue continues Park Drive north from Florida 46 (25th Street) into historic downtown Sanford, ending at Seminole Boulevard by Sanford City Hall and the Seminole County Courthouse. Photo taken 02/29/08.
The end of Seminole County 415 west occurs at junction U.S. 17-92 (French Avenue) south of downtown. French Avenue consists of a five-lane commercial boulevard leading south from Lake Monroe to Orlando Drive at Park Drive. Florida 46 utilizes the federal highway pair between its routes along 25th Street and 1st Street, though the overlap is vastly unsigned (the shield pictured here is a misnomer). Scenes pertaining to Florida 415
Looking southward at the old alignment of Florida 415 at the Osteen Bridge on the St. Johns River. The 1947-bridge was removed over the St. Johns River itself, but not the adjacent bayou. A palm tree grows in the former highway right of way at the southbound bridge abutment. Photos taken 02/29/08.
What was Florida 415 north on the departure from the St. Johns River bridge. The two-lane access road merges with the state road mainline in a short distance. Areas surrounding the bridge are a part of the Lake Monroe Conservation Area. Photos taken 02/29/08.
