Florida 296 Guide

Florida 296 East
The first eastbound shield of Florida 296 posted on Michigan Avenue as it leaves U.S. 90 & Escambia County 296. Michigan Avenue comprises a heavily traveled surface arterial 2.5 miles east of the Mobile Highway to Florida 296's transition into Beverly Parkway. Photo taken 05/07/04.
Beverly Parkway takes over the naming convention of Florida 296 for the next 1.1 mile until the intersection with U.S. 29 (Palafox Street). An extremely congested intersection in the community of Brent, Florida 296 namechanges to Brent Lane as it crosses east of U.S. 29. Photo taken 05/07/04.
One half mile east of U.S. 29 (Palafox Street) at Horseshoe Court in Brent. The Exit 5 diamond interchange with Interstate 110 exists ahead. The congested interchange will soon carry six lanes of traffic above Brent Lane due to freeway widening. Photo taken 05/08/04.
2di sized Interstate 110 shield posted at the southbound on-ramp toward downtown Pensacola, Gulf Breeze, and Pensacola Beach. Interstate 110 travels 1.3 miles to Exit 4 (junction Florida 295) and 2.5 miles to the Maxwell and Jordan Street off-ramp. Photo taken 05/08/04.
The confluence of Interstate 110, Florida 296 (Brent Lane), and Florida 291 (Davis Highway) is usually the site of heavy traffic congestion. The rather empty scene here of the left-hand turn onto Interstate 110 northbound is the exception rather than the norm. Interstate 110 ends two miles to the north at junction Interstate 10. Photo taken 05/08/04.
