The main north-south artery of Santa Rosa County. Florida 87 links Milton at U.S. 90 with U.S. 98 at Navarre. The highway is overall two lanes with some upgraded four lanes segments as it traverses rural communities between the the beach areas and Interstate 10. Florida 87 doubles as a vital evacuation route for northbound traffic and continues from U.S. 90 to the state line with Alabama (transitions to Alabama 41 en route to Brewton).

Southern Terminus - U.S. 98/Navarre
Westbound U.S. 98 at the northbound beginning of Florida 87. The southern terminus splits between two roadways, forming a "Y" type intersection with U.S. 98. The Navarre Toll Bridge (Florida Toll 399) is situated just to the east of this junction. Photo taken June of 2001.

Florida 87 Northbound
Florida 87 (Stewart Street) northbound at the western branch of Santa Rosa Couny 191 (Oliver Street) in the city of Milton. Santa Rosa County 191 splits between Oliver Street and Broad Street in Milton as it enters from Munson to the northeast.
