Approaching the city of Sanford, Florida 46 meets Florida 415 north and Lake Mary Boulevard south. Florida 415 joins northeast Seminole County with Osteen and Deltona in Volusia County; Lake Mary Boulevard represents a 2006-opened arterial linking Florida 46 & 415 with Cameron City and areas south of Orlando-Sanford International Airport. Westbound at the intersection with Orange Boulevard. Orange Boulevard travels north and east through suburban areas to junction Seminole County 15 (Monroe Road) at Exit 104 of Interstate 4. Southward, the road carries the designation of Seminole County 431 1.326 miles to Seminole County 46A (Markham Road). There are no pentagon shields for the county road on Florida 46 however. Florida 46's four lane section comes to an end beyond the Orange Boulevard intersection. Despite heavy truck traffic and other drivers bound for Mt. Dora, the road remains at just two lanes throughout the rest of Seminole County into protected areas of Lake County. Sanford Road downgrades into a narrow residential street west of the interchange, so trucks should use U.S. 441 south to Orange County 500A (Old U.S. 441) north. Lake County 46 continues Sanford Road west 0.603 miles to junction Lake County Old 441 (South Highland Street) southeast of downtown Mt. Dora. For whatever reason, the westbound direction of County 46 is unsigned. Photo taken 02/29/08.
