Florida 44 West

A numbering peculiarity occurs when Florida 44 intersects Lake County 44B in Mt. Dora. The County road joins Florida 44 with parallel U.S. 441 to the south, but is signed as a north-south branch of Florida 44. Photo taken 07/03/08.
As mentioned above, the main purpose of Lake County 44B (Florida 44 south) is to link Florida 44 with U.S. 441 in Mt. Dora. The two highways meet in a busy commercial area north of downtown. Photo taken 07/03/08.
