Orange County 545 - Avalon Road

Traveling Avalon Road, Orange County 545 straddles the western reaches of the county between U.S. 192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway) and the city of Winter Garden. The two-lane roadway travels a vastly rural path currently, but development will drastically transition the landscape over the next decade with development of Horizon West and expansion of Winter Garden. Orange County 545 otherwise is vastly unsigned, with just one reassurance shield along northbound and three total signs on southbound.

Just north of the second Western Beltway overcrossing is the west end of Porter Road. Porter Road zig zags its way east to Lake Hancock Road. A Florida 429 trailblazer directs motorists north to New Independence Parkway. Photo taken 10/09/08.
New Independence Parkway begins and heads east from Avalon Boulevard directly into the Exit 15 diamond interchange with the Western Beltway. East of the toll road, the parkway enters the Independence development at Lake Hartley. Photo taken 10/09/08.
The lone northbound reassurance marker for Orange County 545 is posted after New Independence Parkway. A companion shield, the last heading south, also lies nearby. Photo taken 10/09/08.
Avalon Boulevard turns east near Lake Avalon and north again at Mann and Tilden Roads. Shortly after its second 90-degree turn is the city limits of Winter Garden. A southbound pentagon is posted at the westbound turn with the text "CR 545". Photo taken 10/09/08.

Stoneybrook West Parkway extends from the Western Beltway frontage through the Stoneybrook development to Avalon Boulevard at Marsh Road. The parkway splits into one-way couplets adjacent to Florida 429 through to Orange County 535 and Reaves Road. Orange County 545 otherwise continues north to Tildenville before ending at Florida 50 (Colonial Drive). Photo taken 10/09/08.
