Alabama 225

A 24 mile roadway travelling north-south between Spanish Fort and the Civil War era town of Stockton. The two lane roadway encounters suburban sprawl on its southern reaches, but passes by Historic Blakely State Park (considered to be the battleground of the Confederacy's last stand during the Civil War) to the north. The highway creeps upwards in elevation as it nears a junction with Interstate 65. Counties: Baldwin

Alabama 225 southbound at the joint termini of Baldwin County 86 and 138 in a rural area of west central Baldwin County. Baldwin County 138 is the former Alabama 138, a road that heads northeast to Bay Minette. County 86 is a spur to the Tensaw River area to the east. Alabama 225 changes slowly from rural to suburban landscapes during its final 12 miles southward. Photo taken 04/11/02.
Northern terminus of Alabama 225 and associated end shield at Stockton. Alabama 225 intersects Interstate 65 three miles to the south, and allows traffic from far northern Baldwin County and southwestern Monroe County with access to the Interstate and the Mobile area. Photo taken 04/11/02.
