Alabama 113

Very similar to Alabama 112, Alabama 113 traverses 18 miles of pine forest land between U.S. 29/31 near Flomaton and Interstate 65 near Barnett Crossroads. This route is heavily used by logging trucks and through traffic from Pensacola, Florida. The southernmost alignment duplexes with U.S. 29 through Flomaton (pop. 1588). An end Alabama 113 shield is posted at the Florida state line. The northern terminus occurs at Interstate 65 Exit 69, with a transition to Escambia County 17. Counties: Escambia

Northbound U.S. 29 at the Alabama/Florida state line and beginning of Alabama 113 northbound. The two highways cross a railroad line and than meet U.S. 31 within one fourth of a mile. The three routes than share a short overlap to the east. Photo taken 11/25/01.
Northbound Alabama 113 end shield assembly. This sign is located on the north side of the Interstate 65 interchange for Exit 69. An end shield is also posted at the Florida state line to the south. Check back later for that photo, as it just needs to be scanned. Photo taken 10/04/01.
