Alabama 104

Alabama 104 travels from U.S. 98 at Fairhope (pop. 12480) directly east to Siverhill (pop. 616) and Alabama 59 at Robertsdale (pop. 3782). The highway overall is two lanes with a rural type landscape. Unlike towns further to the north in Monroe County, Baldwin County's fast growing economy allows these towns to prosper. Historically, Alabama 104 turned to the north at Fairhope, and followed the current alignment of U.S. 98 to Spanish Fort. Counties: Baldwin

Alabama 104 East
First eastbound Alabama 104 shield. Alabama 104 is relatively undeveloped in this initial stretch, a contrast in the area considering that U.S. 98 between Montrose and Daphne is flanked by commercial development throughout. Photo taken 01/29/02.
Within the town of Silverhill at Baldwin County 55 along eastbound Alabama 104. This is the only traffic light between Robertsdale and Montrose. Alabama 104 terminates three miles to the east. Photo taken 06/05/02.
Approaching the junction with Alabama 59 of Alabama 104 eastbound at the town of Robertsdale. This intersection also represents the northern terminus of Baldwin County 83. Photo taken 08/24/03.
Unlike the western terminus, and end shield is in place for the eastern terminus. Note also that a Foley Beach Express trailblazer is also in place. The tolled facility is located six miles to the south. In contrast, Interstate 10 is located 11 miles to the north. Continuing straight takes one along Baldwin County 83 towards U.S. 90 and the village of Elsanor. Leave the corridor of Alabama 59 in either direction, and one finds themselves in pasture land that is typical of southern Alabama. Photo taken 04/21/02.
